With this decision, MI TOPOLA DOO makes it clear that it can fully keep up with the demands of contemporary world trends, while at the same time it is putting efforts to produce safe products and preserve the health of its consumers.
Allergens are substances that cause an allergic reaction and are difficult to avoid in the normal way of life. They are all around us – in food, medicine, washing, clothes, jewellery, nature and the environment we live in. In the food, it is most commonly referred to as proteins as allergic reaction agents. They can occur anytime during a lifetime.
According to the chemical composition, proteins are the most common allergens, assuming proteins of large molecules: globulins and albumins. In addition, allergens may include polysaccharides (sugars), lipoids (matters similar to fats), and inorganic substances.
When consuming food, the body can react with an allergic reaction, but also with intolerance to some food and/or its ingredient. Intolerance is caused by genetic or acquired deficiencies in the enzymatic and immunological system required for food digestion. Unlike allergy, intolerance is more difficult to recognize. Intolerance is also caused by the lack of enzymes needed for the decomposition of some sugars, e.g. lactose.
Exactly determining whether someone is allergic to food or not is not that simple, and it depends on the amount of allergen that is entered into the body and the overall effects of frequent food ingestion containing allergens. A person diagnosed with food allergy is often allergic to something else as well. When the body of the hypersensitive person comes into contact with the allergen within minutes, hours or days, symptoms of allergy will be observed. The allergy to food is often manifested only by so-called oral allergic syndrome, or the feeling of burning or itching of the tongue, swelling of the tongue, lips, palate or the throat.
