Eight Serbian products carry the label “Serbian quality”, two of them belong to the Meat Industry Topola – Izletnička and Hot Kulen. Only those food products that are produced in Serbia, from domestic raw material and that offer higher quality than other similar products can carry this label. Izletnička and Hot Kulen are distinguished by increased content of meat protein compared to related products in the market. The designation “Serbian Quality” is intended for agricultural and food products in the sector of production and processing of milk, meat, fruits, vegetables, cereals, oilseeds, grapes and honey. The idea of introducing the national quality label was created within the project “Improving the safety and quality of products in the meat processing sector” financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and FAO. Behind it is the Ministry of Agriculture that defined the Regulation which sets out the rules the products must comply with in order to carry this label.
